Hasan was 15 years old at the time. The family lived in Montreal for a few months before returning to Lebanon. However, Hasan stayed in Montreal because he had a clear goal—to build his own business in Canada. With this determination, he began selling newspapers and chocolate bars to save money for his dream of enrolling in university and studying law.

Unfortunately, these were just odd jobs, and as a minor, Hasan found it hard to secure permanent work. The only person who supported him in the unfamiliar city was his brother, who gave him $50.

Hasan’s dream changed after a particular incident. One day, he and his friends went to get their hair cut. Hasan couldn’t afford to spend more than $3 on the service. His friends suggested visiting the cheapest barber school, Marvel College. Hasan was so captivated by the atmosphere in the barbershop that he decided it was better to become a barber than a lawyer.

Within a week, he enrolled in Marvel College to study barbering. He attended classes until 3:00 PM and then worked part-time selling chocolate bars.

The Start of His Career

After completing his studies, his first job was at a barbershop in Fort Chipewyan, a town with a population of about 1,000 people. Unfortunately, Hasan was fired shortly after starting. His first client wanted a chemical perm. Hasan prepared the client’s hair, but when it was time to rinse the chemical, the faucet broke, and hot water poured over the client’s head.

For several months, Hasan struggled to find a new job and had neither money nor a place to live. By chance, he got the opportunity to work with Vidal Sassoon. From then on, his career began to flourish. He became one of Sassoon’s top stylists. Additionally, he developed an educational program for Sassoon and helped turn the brand into one of Canada’s largest salon chains. Hasan styled members of the Edmonton Oilers and provided fashion advice to celebrities.

Starting His Own Business

By 1995, Hasan opened his first modern spa salon. The influx of clients was substantial, as everyone wanted to rejuvenate with the help of cutting-edge equipment. Within a year, he opened several more salons across Alberta, employing over 500 people. His business grew rapidly.

Hasan’s most recent initiative involved significant investments in new technologies. He spent over $2 million on state-of-the-art equipment for his Spasation salon.

In one of his interviews, Hasan shared that perseverance and determination helped him start his own business. He expressed pride in opening spas across different parts of Canada.

Hasan particularly enjoys Edmonton, citing its fair and manageable taxes and friendly people. Moreover, he takes pride in contributing to the economy by creating jobs and paying taxes for his enterprises.

Beyond his business endeavors, Hasan assists hundreds of Canadian immigrants in settling in Edmonton so they don’t have to face the hardships he endured as a teenager. Additionally, he provides financial support to shelters, universities, and other institutions.

This man’s journey to success was not without failures and hard times, but thanks to his perseverance and determination, he succeeded. For many years, Hasan worked every day without breaks. Now, with multiple spas and employees, he occasionally gets the chance to relax and enjoy the results of his hard work.

This man is well-known to everyone, but before opening his business, he had neither a home nor money.
