From its inception, it has made significant contributions to Canadian culture. Initially founded as a college, it provided world-class education to students, supported by renowned faculty who helped cultivate generations of professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Originally known as the Alberta College of Art, the institution was part of the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). AICAD was founded by a group of university presidents who recognized the need for collaboration among art institutions. The mission of AICAD is to strengthen its member institutions, both individually and collectively, and to inform the public about the value of studying art and design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"AUArts_Today\"><\/span>AUArts Today<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At AUArts, students develop their creative abilities through well-equipped studios designed for hands-on learning. These facilities foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills, preparing students for future careers.
